“I still don’t know how one gets the award of Michelin, but somebody came to the restaurant, tasted what I cook, and said that it is good. I found out later, when my director came, with champagne, and said: ‘Michał, we got an award from Michelin…’ During that time, I was the chef. Straight away, so simply, my name appeared in the Michelin red guide. That was in 2007…” Next year, Michał got another Michelin award. Later, he also got three further Michelin awards. Maybe this was just luck, or many years of hard work. However, all chefs dream of achieving high status. Michał modestly comments: ”Understanding the worth, of my skills, came to me only with time, after big changes in my life had happened”. Earlier, in his culinary career, he cooked for George Bush junior, The King of Japan, and John Paul II. Today he runs his own restaurant in Krakow, where dishes really can be called the symphony of taste – Pięciolinia Smaków.
